TREESURE General Assembly in Brașov

7–9 October 2026 | Brașov, Romania

From technical integration and local stakeholder engagement to policy development and project management, the TREESURE General Assembly in Brașov (Romania) brought project partners together for three days of collaboration, knowledge exchange and strategic planning.

The meeting provided an important opportunity to review progress, strengthen cooperation across work packages and align on the priorities, milestones and actions that will guide the project through its next phase.

Day 1: Aligning technical development and project priorities

The first day focused on reviewing progress across the TREESURE work packages and establishing a shared understanding of achievements, pending actions and upcoming milestones.

Partners discussed the data baseline required for the integration of the TREESURE Decision Support System (DSS), explored the transition from technical requirements to the system architecture, and reviewed plans for pilot implementation.

Additional sessions addressed technical roadmaps, sustainability data collection and the dependencies between different work packages. Particular attention was given to identifying integration risks, defining mitigation measures and ensuring that activities remain aligned with the project’s overall objectives.

These discussions helped establish a common direction for the technical work ahead and highlighted the importance of coordinated implementation across the consortium.

Day 2: Strengthening local engagement, communication and policy development

The second day shifted the focus towards operationalising TREESURE’s Local Hubs, planning co-creation activities and strengthening communication and dissemination efforts.

Partners worked on approaches to stakeholder engagement, clarified responsibilities for upcoming activities and discussed ways to improve the visibility and uptake of project results. Networking with related European projects and initiatives was also a key topic, opening opportunities for knowledge exchange and future collaboration.

Another important focus was the exploitation of project results, including opportunities to showcase the DSS, technologies and other innovations developed within TREESURE.

A distinguished policy keynote by our guest, Mr. Ovidiu Paraschivescu, Member of the Chamber of Deputies for USR, added an important policy perspective to the discussions. His contribution complemented the project’s work on policy development and highlighted the value of connecting research and technological innovation with relevant policy conversations.

The day concluded with discussions on the development of TREESURE’s policy brief, helping partners identify priorities and define the next steps towards translating project insights into policy-relevant outcomes.

Day 3: Preparing for the next reporting period

The final day focused on project management, coordination and readiness for the first reporting period.

Partners reviewed the status of deliverables and milestones, assessing progress and identifying the actions needed to ensure timely and effective reporting. This readiness check provided an opportunity to clarify responsibilities, address outstanding tasks and reinforce a shared understanding of upcoming deadlines.

Cross-work-package dependencies were also examined, alongside critical project risks and the mitigation actions required to keep activities on track. These discussions were essential to anticipate potential bottlenecks, strengthen coordination and ensure that challenges are addressed collectively.

By connecting technical progress with management priorities, the meeting helped establish a clearer roadmap for the next stage of implementation.

Across all three days, the General Assembly reinforced the importance of collaboration between technical development, stakeholder engagement, policy work and project coordination.

The discussions in Brașov helped partners consolidate progress, identify shared priorities and translate project objectives into concrete actions. They also underlined the importance of effective communication, clear responsibilities and proactive risk management in delivering meaningful results.

As TREESURE moves into its next phase, the consortium remains focused on advancing its technical solutions, strengthening engagement with relevant stakeholders and supporting the uptake of project results.

Three days of discussion, alignment and planning with one shared ambition to turn innovation into impact.
